Glenda Ruth Strickler

Glenda Ruth (Haffecke) Strickler, 65, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away peacefully on May 29, 2024, at her home.

Glenda “nana” was born on October 24, 1958, in Moberly, Missouri, to William Joe and Guyneth (Penrod) Haffecke. She graduated from Moberly High School. In 1985, Glenda and her husband, Daniel opened the Sub Center in downtown Moberly. In 1995, she accepted a position as a seasonal worker and later became an assistant manager at Moberly Wal-Mart Supercenter where she retired after 25 years. In 2015, she began working in admissions at the University of Missouri.

She married Daniel Hall Strickler on May 12, 1979, in Moberly, Missouri.

She was a member of the ABWA, various PTA’s, girl scouts as well as the big brothers and big sisters’ organization.

Glenda was an amazing wife, mother, nana or friend to anyone she met. She enjoyed scrabble games, words with friends, a good old bonfire, big hugs and back scratches. Her girls, grandkids and family were most important to her. She also enjoyed traveling, hosting countless sleepovers, singing karaoke, endless chili as well as biscuits and gravy. 

Her family and friends will always remember her as a great cook, a ferocious loving mom and nana, a happy and peaceful soul whose hugs would leave you confessing secrets.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Strickler; parents, William Joe and Guyneth Haffecke and sister, Pam Carpenter.

Glenda is survived by her girls, Shannon Forester of Moberly, MO and Tobi Strickler (Alex Cason) of Moberly, MO; five grandchildren, Beau Garrett (fiancé, Preslee Brubaker) of Moberly, MO, Eli Forester of Moberly, MO, Shelby Forester of Moberly, MO, Hayley Forester of Moberly, MO and Zoie McCoy of Moberly, MO; five siblings, Barbara Dougherty (Glen Schmitt) of FL, Katye (Mike) Follett of Moberly, MO, Willy (Laura) Haffecke of FL, Danny Haffecke of Huntsville, MO and Jimmy (Donna) Haffecke of Chilicothe, MO; extended family; her Wal-Mart family; MU co-workers and everyone she crossed paths with.

A celebration of Glenda’s Life will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2024, at the James Youth Cabin in Rothwell Park, Moberly, Missouri.
