Goldie Mae Avery

Goldie Mae Avery, age 75, of Hallsville, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord surrounded by family on March 23, 2023, at her home.

Goldie was born on August 8, 1947 in Moberly, MO, to Andy Anderson McDonald and Maude Elaine Schofield McDonald. She later gained her GED and accepted a position as an operator at Watlow where she worked for more than 23 years.

She married Donald Lee Avery on November 29, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV.

Goldie was a member of the Salvation Army. She enjoyed bingo, gardening, reading, needlepoint but most importantly she loved spending time with all her family.

Her family and friends will always remember her smile, positive outlook on life, loving and caring nature and she was always so easy to talk to.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Maude McDonald; 7 sisters and 4 brothers.

Goldie is survived by her husband, Donald Avery of Hallsville, MO; daughter, Marilyn Hoover of Hallsville, MO; son, Richard Macomber Jr. of Mexico, MO; grandchildren, Crystal Macomber of Columbia, MO, Barry Naab Jr. of Hallsville, MO, Kisha Galbreath of Columbia, MO, Joshua Macomber of Hallsville, MO, Britney Macomber; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; extended family and many close friends including Nancy Bias and Vickie Cook.

A funeral service for Goldie will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2023, starting at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chape. Interment will take place at the Sugar Creek Cemetery in Moberly, MO.
