Goldie Pearl Hamilton, 98, of Higbee passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015 surrounded by family, 19 days short of her 99th birthday. She was born January 26, 1916 to John Henry and Annie Lou (Terrill) Harris in Higbee, Missouri. On April 4, 1936 she married Russell Hamilton, they were married 53 years when he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Higbee Christian Church and former 4H leader, PTA member, Higbee Senior Citizen Band pianist, and Friendship Circle Club. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, dancing and living on the farm. She was always a loving mother and grandmother. Goldie was preceded by her husband, Russell, son-in-law, Terry Painter; brothers and sisters. She is survived by her son, Gary Hamilton and wife Anne of Columbia, MO; daughter, Rita Painter of Higbee, MO; sister-in-law, Elsie Mallory of Madison, MO; grandchildren: Michelle (Aaron) LeGrand, Jeff (Courtney) Hamilton , and Leslie (Mark) Sneller; great grandchildren: Alexandra LeGrand, Ashton Sneller, Nathan Sneller, and Dani Hamilton; great-great-grandchild, Trinity LeGrand; nieces: Patsy Roberts of Kansas City, MO, and Covella Rainey of Mexico, MO; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Higbee. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Bob Eichenberger officiating. Burial will follow at the Higbee Cemetery. In lieu of customary remembrances the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Higbee Christian Church or Coyote Hill Christian Children’s Home.
