Iris Marie Arnold

Iris Marie Arnold, 89, of Macon, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2024, at her home. She was born August 3, 1935, in Macon, Missouri, to Bryan and Josephine Brammer.

Iris graduated from Macon High School in 1953. On June 12, 1955, she married Danny Paul Arnold at Zion Lutheran Church in Macon, Missouri. While Dan honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, Iris traveled with him and lived in San Francisco and France. Dan and Iris owned and operated Arnold Mobile Homes in Macon for 20 years. In 1978, they became owners of the Macon Drive-In Theater and proudly served Macon until its closing in 2004. Iris was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Macon and was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and devoted wife.

Iris was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Dina Arnold; and 6 brothers, Gene, Bill, Don, Joe, Harold, and Francis. 

Survivors include her children, Michael Paul Arnold (Marlene Hildreth) and Susan Arnold Burden of Macon, Missouri; grandchildren, Shelby (Nathan) Lueckenhoff of Kansas City, Missouri, Lauren (Braxton) Lanpher of Centralia, Missouri, Blake (Lindsi) Burden of Columbia, Missouri, and Alex (Allison) Burden of Madison, Wisconsin; great grandchildren, Lacie Lueckenhoff and Daniel Paul Burden; and brother Richard Brammer.

A memorial service celebrating Iris’s life will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Macon, Missouri, at 11:00 a.m. with a private burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 22, 2024, at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
