Isaac Frye, 70, died on the morning of June 6th at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO surrounded by family and friends. Born in Mt. Pleasant, IA on March 1, 1948, Mr. Frye was the oldest of four children of the late Floyd and Mary Frye. While growing up he lived in various places in Iowa and Missouri, graduated high school in Murray, IA, and college from Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, MO. Mr. Frye started his careers as a Physical Education teacher in Higbee, MO before being drafted to the Army in 1971. After 20 years of service, he became a truck driver for 27 years before retiring in 2018. Mr. Frye met his wife, Toni Hampton, during college and have often said she caught his eye right away. He married Toni in 1968, starting a 50-year adventure that included three children and living all around the world including North Carolina; Panama City, Panama; Colorado; Seoul, South Korea; and Illinois before settling in Cairo, MO in 1991. Mr. Frye was always active with a true appreciation for athleticism. He ran, coached, and officiated a number of sports games throughout his life. ESPN was a constant as he loved knowing about all sports no matter what level of play. He also sought adventure with anything that moved whether it be a car, motorcycle, UTV, or boat. Mr. Frye’s life was full of stories surrounding family and friends which he always cherished. Mr. Frye is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren and numerous extended family and friends: Toni Frye (wife) of Cairo, MO; Jeffery Frye (son) and his wife, Cynthia and their three children Jordan, Zachery, and Noah of Antioch, IL; Isaac M. Frye (son) and his wife, Jennifer and their son Cain of Yelm, WA; and Kelley Frye (daughter) of Kansas City. Two beloved dogs who are arguably the favorite children, Courtney and Nooch also survive.
