James "Jimmy" Thomas Roberts

James "Jimmy" Thomas Roberts, 71, of Moberly passed away on Friday, June 19, 2015 at the Valley View Health & Rehabilitation in Moberly. Jimmy was born to the late Orville Bernis and Mable Ruth (Spurling) Roberts on February 11, 1944 in Randolph County, Missouri. Jimmy grew up in Higbee and enjoyed helping his neighbors, he mowed lawns, checked mail, and delivered newspapers. He had a good sense of humor and loved telling jokes. At one time, Jimmy received the Best Senior Citizen Award in Higbee. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his common-law-stepfather, William "Punkin" Carroll. Survivors include his cousins: Vicki Smith and her husband Bob of Moberly, Missouri, Scott Schell of Tampa, Florida, Dwayne Schell and wife Tessie of Jacksonville, FL, John Schell of Moberly, Missouri, Mason Schell of Moberly, Missouri and Danny Schell of Jacksonville, Florida. A visitation will be held on Monday, June 22, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Higbee with Pastor John Bill Spilman officiating.
