James “Jim” Kendall, 58, of Renick, passed away at Boone Hospital April 25, 2015. He was born June 15, 1956 in Mexico, MO to Bob and Dorothy Robb Kendall. He graduated from Higbee High Schools. On June 4, 2004 in Moberly, he was untied in marriage to Sharon Hoffman.
Jim worked for Briggs and Daly grocery store in Moberly from 1978 until 1995 as a meat cutter. When Briggs and Daly store closed, he went to work for HyVee Inc. in Columbia where he worked for twelve years. He was a past member of the Masonic Lodge in Moberly and enjoyed participating in Native American Pow Wows. He was known as a very caring and loving person, especially to his wife, children, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Whitaker.
Survivors include his father, Bob Kendall; his grandmother Mae Anno; wife Sharon; brother Craig Kendall (Anne) and sister Rita Kendall all of Moberly; children Katlyn Kendall of Higbee, Jillian Wood (Michael VanWinkle) of North Liberty, IA, Justin Wood of Tiffin, IA; grandchildren Brayson Harlan and Avian Deskin of Higbee, Madison and Mackenzie VanWinkle both of North Liberty, IA; nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly. Visitation will be from 5:00 until time of service. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the American Cancer Associates, 1705 E. Broadway, Suite 100, Columbia, MO 65201. Pathway Memorial Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
