James Robertson

James Mitchell Robertson, 76, of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on December 24, 2022.

James was born on September 14, 1946, to Mitchell Robertson and Mary Edwards in Cairo, Missouri.  He married Barbara Jo Mackler on March 1, 1968, in Madison, MO.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Robertson; his brother, Eddie (Chris) Robertson of Punta Cana, Dominican Republic; his daughter, Anna (Issac) Doke of Belleville, Illinois; his son, Joe (Jen) Robertson of Webster Groves, Missouri; his sisters-in-law, Jeanie (John) Barton and Vicky Mackler-Stockglausner; his granddaughter, Emily Doke of St. Louis, Missouri; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mitchell McKinney Robertson and Mary Bernese Edwards and his sister, Shirley Ess.

James was a Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam era in Turkey, the Mediterranean, and off the coast of Cuba as a Cryptologic Technician (CT3).  After his honorable discharge from the Navy, James earned a degree in Business Management at Missouri State University and worked for Tractor Supply Company, Race Brothers Farm & Home, Nixa Hardware, and Millwood Golf Club.

After retiring, James spent his time golfing, traveling, fishing, and spending time with his family. His favorite trips were his yearly vacations to Hilton Head Island, SC, and his trips to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Australia, and New Zealand.

Visitation will be held at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO, on January 5, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment with military honors will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison, MO following the service.

In lieu of flowers, appreciated memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or Missouri State University – Veteran Student Services and can be left with the funeral home.  An online guestbook is available at www.pathwaymillard.com.
