James Linden Shoemaker, 75, of Moberly, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital in Columbia, MO. James was born in New Cambria, MO on June 15, 1942 to John Shoemaker and Sylvia Jacobs Shoemaker. He married Mary Beth Poe in Columbia, MO on November 15, 1997. James was proud to be an United States Army veteran, having served from 1967 to 1969.
James is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Elizabeth Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Beth Shoemaker; children, Renee (Mike) Huff, Rusty (Paula) Shoemaker, and Jamie (Will) Schafer all of Moberly, MO; his brother, Raymond (Sue) Shoemaker of Andalusia, IL; his sister, Donna (Dennis) Christensen of Bevier, MO; five beloved grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services celebrating James’ life will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO at 10:00 a.m. with full military honors. James was very casual and guests are encouraged to wear comfortable attire.
