Jana Lou Wright

Jana Lou Wright, age 65, of Madison, MO, passed away surrounded by family on August 6, 2023, at Boone Hospital, Columbia, MO.

She was born on July 30, 1958, in Moberly, MO, to Preston Shearer and Louise (West) Shearer.

She attended Westran High School. She worked at JC Pennys for many years. She was a cook at the Moberly Correctional Center for many years prior. She was a member of the Sweet Springs Baptist Church.

Jana enjoyed dancing, watching wildlife and feeding the hummingbirds. She loved spending time with her grandbabies, going to the Casino, spending time with family and friends, going out to eat, shopping and family game nights. Her family and friends will always remember her as a loving partner, mother and grandmother “Gigi”. She loved to bake, had a heart of gold, loved many people and made friends easily. Jana was a lifelong member of the Eagles for over 40 years and was a Madam Chaplain in 2011.

Jana was preceded in death by her father, Preston Shearer, her mother, and stepfather, Louise and Billy Patrick, both her maternal and paternal grandparents, her brother, Steven Shearer.

Jana is survived by her partner, Russell Luttrell of Madison, MO, her children, William and Leslie Wright, of Cairo, MO and Jennifer and Joe Narvarro, of Paris, MO, six grandchildren, Austin Wright, Conner Wright, Kylie Williams, Elizabeth Wright, Bailey Schafer and Jayce Navarro. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

A funeral service celebrating Jana’s life, has been scheduled for Friday, August 11, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., at Pathway-Millard Funeral Chapel, Moberly, MO, with interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery, in Moberly, MO. Visitation will be held Friday, August 11, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at, Pathway-Millard Funeral Chapel.
