Janice Colleen Grafelman ,75, of Jacksonville, MO passed away March 12, 2018 at Boone Hospital in Columbia, MO. Janice was born May 19,1942 in Peoria, IL to James and Juanita (Littell) Doubet.
She was united in marriage July 27, 1963 to Peter Grafelman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bartonville, IL. Janice worked most of her life as a seamstress for a textile production company. During her free time she loved doing needlepoint, cross stitching, crocheting, quilting and making clothes for many of her grandchildren. Her first year of retirement she made twelve afghans! She also made a quilt depicting all fifty states for each of her children and grandchildren as a Christmas gift one year. Janice also crocheted blankets for a hospital that provided them to families of premature babies.
She is preceded in death by her parents and grandson Ryan Scott Grafelman.
Survivors include her husband, Peter; children; Wayne and wife Lourie Grafelman of Jacksonville, Judy Cummings and friend Larry Barnes of Moberly and Jane Rasmussen and husband Darryl of Moberly; grandchildren Adam Rasmussen and Zackery Rasmussen of Moberly, Heather and husband Rodney Harrison of Huntsville, Alex Grafelman and friend Brooke Herrin of Jacksonville and Elizabeth Cummings of Moberly; great grandchildren, Adalyn, Trevin, Brynlee and Zaylee Harrison all of Huntsville, Dakota Grafelman of Jacksonville; siblings, Carol and husband Roy Johnson of AZ, Marvin and wife Karen Doubet of IL; extended family and friends.
Services celebrating Janice Grafelman’s life will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Moberly, MO. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 15, 2018 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
