Jason William Bothe, age 50, of Moberly, MO, went home to be with his Heavenly Father and brothers and sisters in Christ on December 11, 2021. Jason was born on July 17, 1971 in Hillsboro, MO and adopted by his loving parents Donald Bothe and Karen (Rector) McCrae. He graduated from Winfield High School in 1989, and from Linn State in 1991 with an Associates degree in Electronics. He married his wife Stacey (Healey) Bothe of 30 years in 1991. He moved to Moberly in 1994 to work at Heilig Meyers and later worked as a Communication Technician with Southwestern Bell Telephone, CenturyLink, and Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He was an active member at Carpenter Street Baptist Church in Moberly. He enjoyed sharing his faith on many mission trips across the Nation, loved working with our youth groups, sharing his musical gifts by singing and playing his bass with the praise team, and serving in a variety of other ways. His highest rank earned in Boy Scouts was “Life”. He enjoyed being a CubMaster of Pack 201, Scout Master of Troop 14, and serving on the Board of Review for Renick Troop 14. He coached Little League and Little Spartans Football in previous years. He loved this community and the wonderful people that make it.
His passion from his youth was hunting and fishing. Saying he loved the outdoors is an understatement. He loved trout fishing and was super proud of learning to fly fish and cradled many fish without a net. He enjoyed being in the woods to hunt deer during archery and rifle seasons. He was a proud member of the NRA. He loved when he could mentor kids and share his passion of the outdoors with them.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Albert and Marie (Dickbernd) Bothe, James and Mary Ruth (Rector) Admire. Uncles Floyd Crenshaw and Kenneth Bothe. Cousin Carol (Crenshaw) Williams. Jason is survived by his parents Donald Bothe and Karen (Rector) and Jesse McCrae. His devoted wife Stacey (Healey) Bothe, of Moberly, MO. His daughter Danielle Bothe and son Christopher and his wife Sheridan (Keeling) Bothe. Granddaughters Adalynne and Charlotte Bothe. His in-laws, Mike and Susan Healey, Brett and Sheila and nephew Mason Healey. He had such a kind heart as a foster parent to 2 boys and held many special memories with his dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 4-6 pm on Thursday, December 16 at Carpenter Street Baptist Church, Moberly, MO. Funeral service will follow at 6 pm. Graveside Service for family and his dearest friends will be on Friday, December 17 at 9:30 am at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison.
Memorial contributions in Jason’s honor are suggested to the Jason Bothe Memorial Fund c/o Central Bank.
