J.C. Bonham, 91 years, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 20, 2022, at his home with his family by his side. He was born July 19, 1931, to Jesse and Glenna (Ward) Bonham in Heber Springs, Arkansas. It was later in life at Beech Aircraft that he met Peggy Miller. On May 16, 1953, J.C. and Peggy were united in marriage in Wichita, KS.
J.C. and Peggy made their home in Augusta, KS where they welcomed four children: Bill, James, David, and Cindy. In 1969, JC and Peggy moved their family to Renick, MO to pursue an opportunity to become the owner/operators of Woerner Oil Company, at the Renick junction.
J.C. never knew a stranger and would always greet you with his ‘iron hand’ handshake. J.C. was the handy man of the house. If you needed something done, he was sure to help in any way he could or if you needed a tool for the job, he had it. J.C. enjoyed many things: hunting, building pallets, and spending time with loved ones. He loved to coach his children and grandchildren in sports. You could always catch J.C. at church and when they became unable to attend Sunday morning church service, J.C. and Peggy were sure to watch worship and a sermon by Jimmy Swaggart.
J.C. was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Glenna Bonham, his beloved wife Peggy Bonham, a brother Billy Bonham and two grandchildren Michael Bonham and Billy Joe Bonham II.
J.C. is survived by three sons one daughter and their spouses: Billy Joe and Abby Bonham of Mansfield, MO, James Bonham of Clark, MO, David and Sherry Bonham of Moberly, MO, Cindy and Gary Freelin of Moberly, MO. Six grandchildren: Nicki Bonham, Scotty (Iris) Bonham, Laura (Cody) Halliburton, Jericho (Derek) Wood, Chandler (Katie) Bonham, Mackenzie (David) Pogue, 12 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, one brother Alan Bonham of Arkansas, three sisters Sybil Taylor, Rayetta Cline, Dina Faye Butler of Arkansas and many nieces and nephews.
