Jeffrey Thomas Nichols

Jeffrey Thomas Nichols, age 64, of Moberly, MO, passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a long hard battle with numerous health problems, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025. Jeff’s final day on this earth was spent surrounded by his daughters and grandkids, sharing stories and giggles. He is now playing with his favorite puppy, “Muggs”, and at peace with the Lord.

Jeff was born on February 22, 1961, in Moberly, MO, to Aubrey Franklin and Sarah Rudkin Nichols. He graduated from Westran High School in 1979.

He was a member of the King James Baptist Church and enjoyed his time as a retiree and a papa to eight. Jeff enjoyed building with his hands, being the BEST papa, and watching his Kansas City Chiefs. His family will always remember him for his projects and delicious home cooked meals. He was such a wonderful papa from his weekly McDonald’s dates and sleepovers to big surprises for birthdays. He did it all for his grandkids with immense joy!

He is preceded in death by his father, Aubrey Franklin Nichols; mother, Sarah Rudkin Nichols; and his four-legged best friend, Muggs.

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Shelley (Adam) Gann, of Evansville, IN; daughter, Ashley (Brandon) Knisley, of Raytown, MO; daughter, Sarah Nichols (Austin Stitt), of Moberly, MO; daughter, Taylor Nichols (Chase Tyler), of Edgar Springs, MO; grandchildren, Adalyn Kay, of Evansville, IN, Kaylie Grace, of Moberly, MO, Chance Xander, of Edgar Springs, MO, Caden Thomas, of Raytown, MO, Easton Eugene, of Edgar Springs, MO, Kaleb Austin, of Moberly, MO, Nova Marie, of Edgar Springs, MO, and Kaeson Jeffrey, of Moberly, MO; brother, Bernie Nichols, of Huntsville, MO; brother, Frank Nichols, of Smithville, MO; extended family, close friends and four-legged best friend, Penny.
