Jill Burke

Jill Johnston Burke, 49, of Columbia, passed away suddenly at her home on January 17, 2019. She was born August 7, 1969 to James Lee and Norma (Cochran) Johnston. Jill was a graduate of Madison C-3 High School and Truman State University. She had worked for 10 years for MSHAA in Columbia. Jill liked planning and attending family events. She was very active in the lives or her children. Jill was a wonderful mother and thoughtful friend. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. Jill is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, C.M. and Helen F. Johnston; maternal grandparents, Walker and Martha Cochran and uncle, Robert Cochran. Survivors include her beloved children, McKenzie Marlene Bailey and Mason Patrick Burke both of Columbia; her parents, James Lee and Norma Johnston of Madison; her brother, Jeff Johnston; aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and many special friends. Services celebrating Jill’s life will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Madison. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions in Jill’s honor to the Education Fund for Mason Burke and McKenzie Bailey at Alliant Bank, 101 E.
