Jo Ann Thornhill

Jo Ann Thornhill, 68 of Higbee passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly. Jo Ann was born to the late Harold and Mildred Jane (Lynch) Skinner on December 12, 1945 in Madison, Missouri. She married Bert Thornhill Jr. on January 25, 1961. She and Bert were the owner operators of B.J’s in Higbee for many years. Jo Ann was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was known to bring a smile to many faces. She was an auxiliary member of the VFW. Jo Ann is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Bert Thornhill Jr. of Higbee; son, Bert Thornhill III of Higbee; daughters: Tammy Andrews of Higbee and Carrie Ratliff (Rusty) of Higbee; sister, Viola Rominous of Huntsville; grandchildren: Corinna Moore, Krystal Andrews, Seton Thornhill, Sara Ratliff, and Emily Ratliff; great grandchildren: Kalynn Moore and Conner Moore; as well as many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will take place on Friday, December 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m at the Higbee City Cemetery with Pastor John Spilman officiating. Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Higbee will be in charge of arrangements. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial donations be made to Southern Randolph Christian Chapel or the American Lung Association.
