Jo Goins

Jo Ann Burton Goins, 86, of Moberly, passed away at North Village Park in Moberly, MO on December 20, 2017. Jo Ann was born in Higbee, MO on February 23, 1931 to Joe Burton and Ruby Caldwell Burton. She was united in marriage to Benjamin “Dewey” Goins on May 16, 1948 in Higbee Missouri and he preceded her in death. Jo Ann was a lifelong resident of the Moberly area and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She worked as a telephone operator in the late 60’s for Southwestern Bell and later worked at Sears for a number of years. She was a housemother for a University of Missouri sorority for ten years and a huge Cardinal’s fan. Jo Ann was a car nut and especially enjoyed her convertible. Those preceding Jo Ann in death are her parents, her husband and a sister, Sara Robb. She is survived by her children Cathy (Thomas) Stuck, Gary Goins, Laura Lewis, and Scott (Nancy) Goins all of Moberly; ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. There will be a private inurnment at a later date.
