Joan Roberts

Joan Patricia Roberts, 71, of Higbee, MO, passed peacefully Thursday, November 26, 2015 surrounded by her family. Joan was born August 22, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas, the oldest daughter of Woodrow and Wilma Lee Hogue. She worked for Caseys in Higbee, MO for 22 years before retiring in 2012. She loved to crochet, watch her hummingbirds, spend time with her family and spoil her beloved chocolate lab, Remington. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Joan is survived by her sisters; Linda and Jay Elam and Charlene Whitted; her children, Angie (Jim) Johanek of Cawker City, KS, Leslie Nisbet of Sioux City, IA, Teresa Andrews (Paul Hegg) of Centralia, MO, Russell Roberts (Angie Holtkamp) of Moberly, MO, Kenny (April) Roberts of Moberly, MO; a son-in-law David Andrews of Higbee,17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her ex-husband O.J. Roberts as well as a son, Michael Swarts. Joan was cremated at her request. A memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Southern Randolph Church in Higbee, MO. There will be a carry-in dinner following the service at R & R in Higbee for all who would like to attend.
