Jo Ann Kessler, 76, of Moberly passed away November 24, 2010 at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Mrs. Kessler was born August 5, 1934 in Cottonwood, MN, a daughter of Henry and Stella Earnist Glaser. She was a graduate of Madison High School and Moberly Junion College. On January 2, 1959 she and Donald “Dody” Kessler were married at teh First Methodist Church in Huntsville by Rev. Paul Collins. They were attended by Shirley and Melvin McGee. She was employed by the Norfolk Southern Corporation (Wabash Railroad Company) for 35 years as a Stenographer, mainly in the mechanical department. She was the secretary of the Safety Cmmittee for over 20 years, and was well known over the system for her numerous safety papers and slogans. She was the correspondent for the “Folks Along the Line” sections of the Norfolk Western Magazine. She was preceded in death by her husband on February 23, 1994; four sisters Rita Jean, Gail Palmer, Doris Stambach and Dorothy Bagby and brother Cleland. She is survived by one brother Don Glaser of Hunstville; one brother-in-law Leon Stamback and nieces and nephews. She was a member of the UTU and attended the First Chrisitan Church (Disciples of Christ) in Huntsville. Services will be Monday November 29, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Vistiation will be Monday from 10-11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Foundation.
