John Newton Pemberton, 87 of Moberly, passed away Monday July 2, 2012 at his home. He was born September 27, 1924 to Arley Walter and Nellie Wright Pemberton in Brumley, Mo. He married Louise Kathryn Schmelz May 29, 1945 in Union, MO. John was a member of the V.F.W. and a lifelong member of the American Legion. He was a carpenter in the heavy construction of bridges and homes. He is survived by two sons, Richard and wife Carol Pemberton and Gary Pemberton both of Madison, Mo., one daughter, Diana and husband Mark Carrier of Jericho, Vt., three brothers, Wayne and wife Peggy Pemberton of Villa Ridge, Mo., Cecil and wife Celia Pemberton of Richland, Mo. and Warren and wife Helen Pemberton of Lebanon, Mo., one sister, Hazel and husband Gerald Rawlings of Georgia, and five grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded by his parents, wife, two brothers, and one sister. Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday July 6, 2012 at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly and burial will be in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery at Jacksonville with Military Honors.
