John Wayne Wilson

John Wayne Wilson, 61, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family and went home to the Lord on July 25, 2023, at his home.

John was born on October 29, 1961, in Moberly, Missouri to Thomas Allen Wilson Sr. and Mary Sue (White) Wilson. He graduated high school from Westran Senior High School in 1979.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing guitar. He also enjoyed rock and mushroom hunting. However, the most important thing in his life was spending time with his family.

His family and friends will always remember him for his fun loving and kindhearted attitude. He was an extremely selfless person who would do anything for those he loved.

He is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Allen Wilson Sr.; grandchildren, Bentley Wilson and Cali Wilson; all maternal and paternal grandparents.

John is survived by the love of his life, Carla Wilson of Moberly, MO; mother, Mary Sue Wilson of Moberly, MO; children, Nitosha Coleman of Glasgow, MO, Richard Thomas (Cindy) Wilson of Salisbury, MO, Andrew Wayne Wilson of Moberly, MO, Denver Allen Wilson of Moberly, MO, Alec William Wilson of Salisbury, MO and Ashton Cheyanne Wilson of Moberly, MO; grandchildren, Zayne Montgomery, Kyle McWhorter, Kamarah Graves, John Wilson, Khloe Wilson, Duke Wilson, Cailynn Wilson, Caidynn Wilson, Chase Wilson, Karma Wilson, Kingsley Rehm and Carlee Rehm; seven great-granchildren; siblings, Diana Wilson of Elgin, TX, Thomas “Bo” Allen (Delana)  Wilson Jr. of Moberly, MO, Lahry (Shondra) Leroy Wilson of Bolivar, MO and Mary (Matt Lawson) Lou Woods of Salisbury, MO; extended family and close friends, Lee and Sandy Welch.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date.
