Johnnie Ray DeMint, Jr, 83, of Moberly passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 at Moberly Nursing and Rehab. Johnnie was born in Hardin, Missouri to Johnnie Ray Sr. and AnnaBelle (Ellis) DeMint on September 19, 1932. Johnnie worked as a Lineman for South Western Bell for 31 years before retiring in 1987. He loved supporting sports, enjoyed the outdoors and loved horses and tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 58 years, Nellie (Williams) DeMint who preceded him in death on June 13, 2015 daughter, Melissa DeMint; brother David DeMint; sisters: Mary Dady and Kay Oster. Survivors include sons: Michael Ray DeMint and wife Sharon Kay of Cairo, Mitchell DeMint and wife Heather of Mexico; daughter, Mendy Head and husband Troy of Moberly, grandchildren: Josh (Amanda) DeMint, Cody DeMint, Melissa (Brandon) Rollins, Victor Ryan Head, Taylor DeMint, and Drew DeMint; great- grandchildren: Hannah DeMint and Jaden DeMint; sisters: Vivian Bowlin of Carrollton, Opal Zetmeier, June Dobbins, Betty Flick, Arlene DeMint, Joyce Matthews, Alice Richards, and Dot Ryan; sister-in-law, Linda DeMint; many nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Pastor Jim Crooks officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
