Joseph Allen Apel, 66, of Clark, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Boone Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Joseph was born to Charles S. and Mary Jane (Powell) Apel on December 16, 1950 in Moberly, Missouri. During his career, he worked as an electrician for University of Missouri-Columbia before retiring. He was a member of The Gateway to the high country Cowboy Church and an avid coon hunter. He loved his horses, cows, and especially his mules. He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Tim Bargar; and niece, Heather Carter. Survivors include son, Matthew Apel of Clark, Missouri; daughters: Rebecca Connolly and husband Michael of Sturgeon, and Debbie Bargar of Arnold, Missouri; brother, Terry Apel and wife Jan of Kearney, Missouri; grandchildren: Spencer Bargar, Joseph Connolly, Peyton Bargar, Timothy Bargar, Justin Connolly, and Garrett Connolly; as well as several nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, 20, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Madison, Missouri.
