Joseph (Joe) Ogden, age 87, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2025.
He was born in Rush Run, Ohio, February 23, 1938, to William Ogden and Edris Hartshorne Ogden. He joined the Air Force in 1956 and served his country for four years. He was stationed overseas in Azore. Joe moved to Missouri in 1961. In 1963, he married Mary Thomas in Columbia, Missouri. Four children were born to this union. His lifetime occupation was an auto mechanic working in Columbia, Missouri.
Joe enjoyed his family. He liked to hunt, fish and loved the great outdoors and marveled at God’s wonderful creation. Joe liked gardening. Joe was always working and was not one to just sit around. He retired in 1997 due to health problems and injuries. After retiring he moved southwest of Higbee on a small acreage where he was able to enjoy having time to hunt, fish, and garden, or just relax.
In June 2003, he met Nancy Harding Anno. They were married on August 14, 2004. The children and Bill and Mary were all very gracious loving and caring and with God’s blessings all grew as a close ad loving family.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy, of the home; daughter, Lori (Thomas) McManus of Jefferson City, MO; son, John Ogden, of Warsaw, MO; son, Mark (Bridget) Ogden of Sturgeon, MO; son, David Ogden, of Columbia, MO; two granddaughters, Mikala and Ashley Ogden; great grandson, Colson Hendren; several nieces, nephews, numerous family and friends.
He was a member of the Higbee Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Breanna Nicole McManus; step-grandson, Brandon Thomas McManus; three sisters; two brothers; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law, two nephews and a great nephew.
The family suggests memorials to Higbee Baptist Church and/or Missouri Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Pathway Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Moberly, MO, on April 8, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. with service to follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO, with Military Service to follow.
