It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph William Kindell, known to many as "JW", of Huntsville, Missouri. JW passed away peacefully on August 17th at the age of 82.
JW was a beloved member of the Huntsville community, a Deacon at Immanuel Baptist, known for his kindness, generosity, having a pocket full of candy to share, and his humor. He never met a stranger and touched the lives of all who knew him, whether through his work as a handyman, involvement in church, or simply through his friendly demeanor, humor, and eagerness to help anywhere he could.
JW was a devoted Baptist, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and his family and friends were the most important things to him. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Aniceta Kindell; children, Lee, Christina, Richard, and James; his grandchildren, Hannah-Rose, Gabriel, Lauren, Courtney, Michael, Makayla, Stephen, Christian, Gabriel, Jasmin, Maniah, Mercedes; his great-grandchildren Hazel, Aurora, Adeline, Eric; extended family members, and friends. In particular, his brother from another mother, Clyde.
In addition to his family, JW leaves behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, as well as service to his country and community. He spent 20+ years in the Navy, and 20+ years at PSNS, Bremerton, Washington, and relocated back to his roots in Huntsville in the early 2000s to care for his mother. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his sense of humor, and his willingness to lend a helping hand to those in need.
A celebration of JW's life will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church 1201 Buchanan St, Moberly, on Wednesday, August 21, 2025, at 7:00 pm. In place of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to DAV : Disabled American Veterans in JW's honor.
JW will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
May he rest in peace.
