Judy Kay Davis

March 8, 1955 — March 11, 2025

Huntsville

Judith ”Judy” K Davis passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the age of 70 years old.

She was born on March 8, 1955, in Waterloo, Iowa, to parents Stella Mae Robinson and Edward Lee Philips. Judy graduated from East High School in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1972. She worked several jobs as an Administrative Assistant, Central High School, Waterloo School Administration and Waterloo Recreation Center. She was often praised by her supervisors for her ability to type 90 wpm and immaculate office skills.

Judy married the love of her life, James Daniel Davis, in May of 2004, in Moberly, Missouri. Daniel called Judy his “Morning Glory” and was blessed with 21 years of marriage with his beautiful wife and best friend. They were truly meant for each other.

Judy was a deeply spiritual woman who shared God’s love with others. She gave her life to God at the young age of 13. Throughout her spiritual journey, she was a missionary, Sunday School teacher, Sunshine Band teacher and choir member. For those who are not aware, the Sunshine Band is a religious organization, specifically for children aged 2-12, with the Church of God in Christ. The mission is to provide a spiritual foundation for each child by building character, faith and self-worth. She found purpose in being a spiritual guide for the youth.

Judy was an inspiration to all who knew her and was loved and admired by many. She was a loyal servant of God and dedicated to her walk with Christ. She knew God’s purpose for her life. Having this perspective, simply and most importantly, prepared her for eternity. The impact of Judy’s life will be felt for years to come. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

She is predeceased by her parents, Stella M. Robinson and Edward L. Philips; brother, Charles E. Robinson; and sister, Shelly A. Hopkins.

Judy is survived by her beloved husband, James Daniel Davis, of Huntsville, Missouri; daughters, Alyssa Hughes, of Columbia, Missouri, Lynn (Bakary) Jabbi, of Columbia, Missouri, Stacey (Madiagne) Diouf, of Columbus, Georgia, and Julie Davis, of Columbia, Missouri; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sons, Perry Davis, of Columbia, Missouri, Dominique Davis, of Columbia, Missouri, and Maurie Bishop, of Jefferson City, Missouri; sisters, Annette (Ralph) Robinson, of Huntsville, Missouri, Victoria (Danny) Adams, of Waterloo, Iowa, D’arci Tillman, of Waterloo, Iowa, Brenda Taylor, of Rock Island, Illinois, and Debbie Taylor, of Burnsville, Minnesota; brothers, Douglas (Elaine) Taylor, of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Gary Taylor, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Fabian Taylor, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
