Julia Elizabeth Hess, 92, of Moberly passed away Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Moberly Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. Julia was born to the late Thad and Marilyn (Melville) Wilson on April 13, 1921 in Randolph County. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and was the St. Pius X School Librarian for 20 years. Julia volunteered at the towers for over 25 years, she was a member of the AWBA, taught fitness at the towers and also taught several water aerobics classes. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Hess; brothers: Gilbert Wilson, Martin Wilson, James Wilson, and Edward Wilson; and her special friend, Jack Trepton. Julia is survived by her sons: Wendell “Dick” Hess and wife Verna of Cairo; Philip Melville Hess and wife Brenda of Cairo; brothers: Frank Wilson of Huntsville; Paul Dean Wilson and wife Melody of Moberly; and Ronald Wilson and wife Shirley of Yates ; sister, Velma Maxwell of Independence, MO; grandchildren: Anthony Dodd and wife Marci, Jill Head and husband Craig, Richard Hess and wife Marinda, and Deanna Pinnell; 10 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Visitation for Julia will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 1:00 p.m until service time at 2:00 p.m at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Father Phil Niekamp officiating. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Moberly under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes.
