Karen S. Robnett, age 65, of Moberly, Missouri, passed away surrounded by family and friends on June 13, 2016, at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation in Moberly, Mo.
Karen was born on August 16, 1950 in St. Louis, Mo the daughter of Mabel and Kenneth Robnett.
She graduated from Hazelwood High School and from Central Methodist University in Fayette in 1972 with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1974, she moved to Moberly and accepted a position as an elementary school teacher at North Park Elementary School. Karen taught 5th grade at North Park and later taught reading at Moberly Middle School. She retired from Moberly Public Schools after teaching for more than 31 years. After retiring, Karen was an instructor at the Adult Education and Literacy program at Moberly Area Community College.
Karen was a member of Local Sorority Alpha Phi Alpha at Central Methodist University and Beta Sigma Phi Local Chapter Zeta Omega. She loved reading, photography, traveling and spending time with friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Mabel James Robnett.
Karen is survived by her father, Kenneth (Meredith) Robnett of Grover, Mo, her sisters Sandy Pichler of O’Fallon, Mo, and Carol Greco of Ballwin, Mo; her niece Sarah Brown of O’Fallon, Mo; her nephews Andrew (Ashley) Gile of Elsberry, Mo and Joshua (Jessy) Gile of Lake St. Louis, Mo; and her great nieces Keira, Aubrie and Zoey of Lake St. Louis, Mo.
A memorial service celebrating Karen’s life has been scheduled for Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 3pm, at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home, Moberly, Mo. Visitation will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 from 1pm until the time of service.
