Kathleen Wood, 97, formerly of Renick, passed away September 30, 2017 at Heritage Hall in Centralia, Missouri. Kathleen was born October 1, 1919 in Cairo, the only daughter of Rupert Bennett and Gladys (Tyler) Bennett.
Kathleen is survived by her son, Lonnie Wood and wife Linda of Columbia, son, Richard Wood and wife Joyce of Clark, and daughter-in-law, Kay Wood of Kansas City; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; extended family and friends.
Her parents; a brother, Wilfred Bennett; husband, Vester Wood; son, Ronald Wood; and step-granddaughter, Terry, preceded her in death.
Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Randolph County. She was the superintendent and active member of her church, Renick Christian Church. Kathleen had a gift for hospitality as she worked as the manager of Noll Motel for many years. She was a remarkable mother to three boys whom she raised on her own after the passing of their father in 1956. She was a wonderfully talented seamstress, exceptional cook, and she loved gardening.
Visitation services will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly, MO. Funeral service will follow the visitation at 12:00 p.m., followed by interment at Memorial Park Cemetery.
