Kenneth Dale Kyser, 78, of Moberly, MO, passed away June 13, 2023, at The Neighborhoods Nursing Home Facility in Columbia, Missouri.
Kenneth was born November 1, 1944, in Clinton, Missouri, to Edward A. Kyser, Sr. and Blanche Roush Kyser. He was married to Janet Lorenson Kyser on November 21, 1981, at the Monroe City United Methodist Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Andrew Kyser; grandson, Benjamin Kyser; brothers Edward Kyser, Jr., Harold Kyser, Donald Kyser and Kay Kyser. He is also preceded in death by his parents-in-law, Roy and Betty Lorenson and sister-in-law, Jane Lorenson, of Monroe City, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Kyser; sons, Austin Kyser, Alex Kyser of Moberly, MO, Bradley Kyser of St. Louis, MO and Joseph Kyser of Vancouver, Canada. Also surviving are two grandsons, Kevin Kyser and Nick Kyser of Wisconsin, sisters-in-law, Linda Kyser, Doreen Kyser, Julie Kyser, brothers-in-law, Leroy (Vicky) Lorenson and Dennis Lorenson, nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Kenneth graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1962, graduated from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1968, and before coming to Moberly, was court crier, law clerk in the Office of Judge William H. Becker, Chief Judge of U.S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri. He served two years in the United States Army and was on the staff of the Judge Advocate’s Office. While in Moberly he served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney to Prosecutor Channing Blaeuer and served as Juvenile Officer. He opened a private practice and went on to become a partner in the Kyser and Suter Law Firm. He concluded his career in private practice and attorney for juvenile officers in the 14th Judicial Circuit.
Kenneth joined Trinity United Methodist Church in 1982 and was an active member. He served as Sunday school teacher for many years and was a member and officer of the United Methodist Men. Additionally, he served on various committees as chair or member and was a youth sponsor.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Pathway Millard Funeral Home in Moberly, MO. Pastor Kim Hoover of Trinity United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be at the Missouri Veteran’s cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
The family suggests memorials to Trinity United Methodist Church or the Christos Center in Moberly.
