Kenneth Leroy Minor, 75, of Moberly, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 6, 2015. He was born March 22, 1940 in Moberly to William Minor and June Brown Minor. He served his country honorably in the National Guard and as a Reserve of the Army from March of 1959 until his deployment with the United States Army to Germany in December of 1959. Kenneth served in the Army from 1959 to 1962, after which he returned to the Army Reserves until his honorable discharge in 1965. On August 31, 1968 he wed Clara Manning in Moberly, Mo and she survives of the home. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of Moberly and a member of the VFW. He enjoyed stock car racing and watching Nascar. Kenneth was a self employed heating and air conditioning contractor for several years. He eventually worked for the State of Missouri at the Missouri State Veterans Home in Mexico, Missouri before retiring on September 1, 2001. Those preceding him in death are his parents; a brother, James “Buck” Minor; 2 sisters, Doris Jean Taylor and Mary Hazel Hayes; and an infant son, James William Minor. Survivors include his wife; his children, Larry Dean (Terra) Minor of Moberly, Lea Ann (Donnie) Nickerson of Moberly and John Alan (Debbie) Minor of Higbee; grandchildren, Zachary Minor and Coty Minor both of Huntsville, Austin Nickerson and Derrick Nickerson both of Moberly, Kalynn (Joe) Starks of Huntsville, Tori Nickerson of Moberly, Nia Kastner of Centralia, Kaylee Smith and Payton Smith both of Moberly; great grandchildren, Stella, Shawnee and Liam Starks all of Huntsville; sisters, Mildred Howard of Sugar Creek, Mo and Billie Jo Longdon of Quincy, Il as well as extended family and friends. Funeral services celebrating Kenneth’s life will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow with full military honors at Oakland Cemetery.
