Kenneth Noble Sly, 68, of Madison, Missouri, passed away on May 23, 2019, at University Hospital, Columbia, Missouri. Kenneth was born to Noble Marvin and Violet Marie (Grimes) Sly in Moberly, Missouri, on May 1, 1951. He was employed by the Norfolk and Southern Railroad for many years. Kenneth entered into the US Army in 1970where he served honorably until 1976. His service included postings at Fort Dix, New Jersey, as well as Germany where he was part of the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Armored Calvary Regiment; before returning to his home state of Missouri to serve in the Army Reserve. His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Sharpshooter Badge, and Army Parachutists Badge. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, June Carol Sly; brothers: Marvin Dale Sly and David Wayne Sly. Survivors include his son, Cody Sly and wife Amy of Moberly, Missouri; daughter, Emily Sly of Moberly, Missouri; grandchildren: Aiden, Aaron, Kinsey, and Claire; sisters: Janet Kay Sly, Opal Marie Sly, Donna Lynn Sly, Dora Lee Sly, and Debbie Sue Sly; brother, Clay Stanley Sly. A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. until service time at 3:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Pastor Brad Fuemmeler officiating. Burial will follow at the Higbee City Cemetery, Higbee, Missouri.
