Lawrence E. Stanfield, Sr. passed away January 16, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on June 13, 1947 in St. Joseph, MO to Ralph Stanfield and Waneta Grable Stanfield.
Lawrence was a bus driver for Higbee Schools for many years. He also worked in building materials for Mid-Am and managed lumber companies. Lawrence enjoyed boating, water-skiing and rebuilding cars. He was very frugal and his children remember a favorite quote, “Don’t cut off your nose to spite your face”. Lawrence was a beloved father, grandfather and brother. He will be greatly missed.
Lawrence is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Kenny Stanfield.
Survivors include Marie Stanfield and their children, Maria (Dan) Reed of Huntsville, MO, Ralph (Millie) Stanfield of Macon, MO, Laurie (Eric) Sweezor of Linn Creek, MO and Larry (Jodi) Stanfield, Jr; 14 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; siblings, Harlan Enyart, Jim Stanfield, Ray Dean Stanfield, Terry Stanfield, Liz Stallo, Peggy Miller, Ann McGowan and Bubby Wriedt; extended family and friends.
Services celebrating Lawrence’s life will be held Monday, January 21, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with private inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
