Leo Benjamin Dailing

Leo Benjamin Dailing, 84, of Centralia entered into rest Sunday, August 6, 2023, at the Heritage Hall in Centralia, Missouri.

He was born April 24, 1939, at the family farm near Hatton, Missouri, which later they moved to Centralia, Missouri the son of Leonard F. and Marie B. (Gash) Dailing. Leo (Ben) was a graduate of Centralia High School and grew up a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Centralia, Missouri.

SP4 Dailing served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Centralia VFW Post 6276. He was a past President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Moberly, Missouri.

He was employed the majority of his adult life by numerous tractor trailer moving companies and truck lines and was also employed by and retired from the Thomas Hill Power Plant. Ben loved and enjoyed his family and family get togethers to share old stories of growing up and his experiences of such. He enjoyed watching and was an avid NAS-CAR and Football fan.

He was preceded in his passing by his parents and two brothers, Leonard D. Dailing and Arlen C. Dailing.

His survivors include two sisters, Isabelle Autrey of Lees Summit, Missouri, Helen Pierce of Centralia, Missouri, several nieces, nephews and cousins as well as close family friends.

The family suggests any memorials be sent to: Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Missouri Veterans Home Mexico, Missouri, VFW Post 6276 Centralia, Missouri, Missouri State Veterans Cemetery and Compassus Hospice.

A graveside service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri.
