Leon Blackston

Leon Lavell Blackston Sr., age 54 of Macon, MO passed away at Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO on February 16, 2023.  Leon was born on October 16, 1968, in Detroit, MI to Glenda Blackston.

Leon attended school and graduated from MLK in Detroit, MI.  He was a member of Family Life Fellowship in Moberly, MO.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Leon married Paula Bohonsky on May 25, 2018, in Moberly, MO.  He enjoyed football, especially the Detroit Lions along with cooking and most of all spending time with his family.  Leon had a love for cars of all kinds.  He will always be remembered for how he liked to joke around and talk smack about football.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Glenda Blackston.

Leon is survived by his wife, Paula Blackston of Macon, MO, uncle, James and aunt, Delores Smith of Detroit, MI.  He is also survived by his children, Jawana Blackston Jones (Keaaron), Leon Lavell Blackston II (Paris Johnson) of Detroit, MI, Dionne Barge (AJ Hatton) of Columbia, MO, Raylen Blackston of Columbia, MO, Trinity Blackston (Phyllis Saalik) of Columbia, MO, Shawn (Ariel Hull), Moberly, MO, Kurt Bohonsky (Amanda), Chillicothe, MO, Kendra McClain (L’Courtney) of Moberly, MO.  14 grandchildren, Leon Lavell Blackston III, Muskgeon, MI, Zo’Kyle Barge, Macon, MO, Emery Jones, Arlington, TX, Janelle Sky Tiger, Moberly, MO, Kenzo Jones, Arlington, TX, Treazure Barge, Macon, MO, Adina Hatton, Macon, MO, Kiara, Ka’Von, Kavian, Kadence, and La’Niah Tiger, Moberly, MO, Tiohnnah Bohonsky, Kansas City, MO, Ramiyah McClain, Moberly, MO.

A Memorial Service celebrating Leon has been scheduled for Saturday, February 25, 2023, 3:30 to 5 p.m. at Family Life Fellowship in Moberly, MO.  Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. If desired donations can be sent to Pathway Millard Funeral Home, 411 Union Ave. Moberly, MO to help with final expenses.
