Leona Alexander, 85, of Moberly, passed away at Macon Health Care Center in Macon, MO January 3, 2018.
Leona was born March 10, 1932 in New Boston, MO to Orville Mills and Cosie Overstreet Mills. On May 18, 1968 she was united in marriage to James Alexander, who precedes her in death.
Leona was a member of Heritage Baptist Church in Moberly. She worked on the assembly line at Toastmaster for many years. She had a servant’s heart. She enjoyed sitting with and being a companion to her elders. She liked flower gardening and was skilled at hanging wallpaper. Her joy in life was her grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.
Those preceding Leona in death are her husband, James Alexander; parents, Orville and Cosie Mills; brothers, Frank Mills, Gene Mills and Homer Mills; sisters, Fern Clow, Edna Bunton and Alma Nickell as well as great grandson, David Cabrera.
She is survived by her daughters, Mardella M. (Greg Lee) Johnston of Columbia, Leta Albright of Wichita, KS and Kandi (Jimmy) Million of Moberly; grandchildren, Tonya (Jason) McKinney of Cairo, Erika (Victor) Galvan of Wichita, KS, Paula (Patrick) Stout of Macon, Brandon (Teri) Albright, Cole Million and Chelsey Million all of Moberly; nine great-grandchildren, Jacob, Kiah, Konner, Caleb, Katie, Michael, Maria, Joshua and Colton; extended family and friends.
Services celebrating Leona’s life will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, January 5, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
