Leslie “Darrell” Simms lost his battle with cancer October 2nd, 2018 at home surround by family and friends. Darrell enjoyed many activities like home improvement and building things, which included taking old items and giving them new life. His love for the outdoors was enjoyed in his country home the last few years where he spent his time building, planting, gardening, fishing, and mushroom hunting. Darrell was born in Jackson County, Missouri on May 1st, 1962, to Leslie Elwood Simms and Anna Jean Mallory. He is survived by his daughters Erica Peart, Amber Simms, and Mallory Kitchen; son Ryan Kitchen; grandchildren Natalie, Brooklynne, and Carson. His significant other Pamela Baker and her daughters Alisha, Melissa, Amanda; their spouses, children, and grandchildren. His sister Beverly (Chuck) Spencer; aunts Joyce Sharp, Marilyn Apel and Shirley Mallory; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless other friends and family. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 6th, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Home of Moberly, Missouri. Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bob Kelley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Cancer Association.
