Linda Kay Burton, 63, of Moberly, passed away Friday, September 9, 2017 surrounded by her family. She was born December 22, 1953 in Randolph County to Robert L. Briscoe and Mary Sue Turner Briscoe and was a lifelong resident of Moberly. On July 7, 1972, she married Steven Ray Burton and they spent many happy years together. Most everyone in town met her at one point or another during her 20 years as a customer service manager at Wal-Mart.
Linda had many hobbies including; canning, fishing, doing crafts, working puzzle books, drawing and visiting Amish country with her family. Her favorite pastime was spoiling her beloved grandchildren. Linda was said to be a little stubborn, which her children joke is an inheritable trait. She was also sweet and the most non-judgmental person you could ever meet. She enjoyed helping others and will be greatly missed by all who loved her.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sue Briscoe; her paternal grandparents, Robert Samuel Briscoe and Artie Briscoe and her maternal grandparents, Clarence and Ruby Turner.
Survivors include her father, Robert L. Briscoe; her husband, Steven Ray Burton; her four children, Kimberly (Charles) Bailey of La Grange, MO, James (Melissa) Burton of Wellsville, MO, Tracy Carney of Moberly, MO and Shawn (Abby) Burton of Boonville, MO; grandchildren, Trevor Bailey of Fort Drum, NY, Mikayla Bailey of Hull, IL, Dakota Bailey of La Grange, MO, Devyn Burton and Ethan Burton both of Wellsville, MO, Lukas Carney and Izik Burton both of Moberly, MO, Noah Ritter and Henlee Burton both of Boonville; great granddaughter, Annie Mae Bailey; siblings, Glenda (Billy) Prather of Jacksonville, MO, Bobby (Robin) Briscoe and John (Betty) Briscoe all of Moberly; extended family and close friends.
Services celebrating Linda’s life will be held Friday, September 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 14, 2017 at the funeral home from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.
