Lois Joan Dodge, 80, of Moberly passed away October 4, 2011 at Valley Manor Nursing & Rehab Center in Excelsior Springs, MO. Lois was born August 12, 1931 in Fort Madison, Iowa to Stace L. and Cleta (Yetter) Schutte. She was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Moberly. Lois worked as a LPN at Community Hospital for 18 years. She volunteered at the Senior Americans Multipurpose Center in Moberly and was later employed there in the office. Lois loved cats and cared for many of them. In 1950 Lois married George Spicer and he preceded her in death in May 1968. In May 1969 she married George Dodge and he preceded her in death in July 2002. She is survived by three sons Gregg Spicer and Barb Sanders of Alton, KY, Doug Spicer of Moberly and Kent and Mary Ann Spicer of Excelsior Springs; two step-sons George and Rene Dodge of Columbia and Ronald and Alice Dodge of the state of Mississippi; one daughter Brenda Spicer of Excelsior Springs; one step-brother Tom Schutte of Iowa; one step-sister Elaine Fry of Denver, CO; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one brother and one step-brother. Services will be Friday October 14, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Baptist Church or to the Senior Americans Multipurpose Center in care of the Meals on Wheels program.
