Lorie Denise Wright, 59, of Moberly, Missouri passed away Thursday, January 7, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family.
Lorie was born November 21, 1961 in Des Moines, Iowa to Larry Gilliespie and Helen Spoonholtz.
Lorie lived most of her life in Des Moines, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Des Moines Technical School. On May 24, 1980, Lorie married Scott Emery Wright III. In 1993, the couple moved to Moberly, MO; and has lived there ever since. She attended Moberly Area Community College, and she graduated with an associates of business degree.
In her free time, Lorie loved all things ‘arts and crafts’, there was no limit. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and jewelry making. She was an avid reader, creating her own library at home with every genre you can imagine, though her absolute favorite was science fiction. Her favorite quote was, “always make new mistakes.”
Lorie is preceded in death by her daughter, Camille Wright; father, Larry Gilliespie and brother, Jerry Gilliespie.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Wright, of Moberly, MO; daughter, Maggie Wright of Moberly, MO; granddaughter, Eloira Sanders of Moberly, MO; siblings, Mike (Janice) Gilliespie of Des Moines, IA, Kristy Parterno of Des Moines, IA, Larry (Christina) Gilliespie of ( Arizona City, Arizona) and Frank (Juanita) Gilliespie of Des Moines, IA; extended family and close friends.
Per her request, no public services will be held.
