Marilyn Caroline Wortman Morlan, a longtime resident of Moberly, Missouri, passed away June 1, 2013 at Gower Convalence Center in Gower, Missouri with loved ones at her side. Marilyn was born December 27th, 1922 to Joseph H. and Caroline Wortman in Howard County, Missouri. Marilyn worked as a nurse at Whitaker Hospital for many years. Marilyn was preceded in death by: husband Albert Morlan, daughters Peggy Crigler and Billie Couch, parents Joseph and Caroline Wortman, sister Betty Brooks, and brothers Howard Wortman and Joe Wortman. Marilyn “Grandma” Morlan is survived by: son Joseph E. Finnell and wife Diane, son Buddy Dickerson and wife Kim, daughter Shirley Dickerson Day and husband Roger,daughter Katie Goss Newby and husband Tony, grandsons Joey Finnell, Jon Finnell, Lloyd Alan Kribbs, Michael Brooks, Rusty Dutton, Jamison Newby and Sam Dickerson, granddaughters Kim Kelly, Deanna Creed and Shannon Dickerson, and 17 great grandchildren. She had a strong talent for needlework, including crocheting and quilting, and a love for gardening and playing cards. However, her most loved passion was her family; she loved to host family get-togethers and you could find her almost every time at a grandchild’s event. Marilyn was a people person, the type who never met a stranger, and she always had a smile on her face. She will be missed. Visitation - 2:00 pm followed by the service at 3:00 pm at Million Taylor Funeral Home, Moberly Missouri.
