Marjorie B. Cafa-Ash, age 75, of Moberly passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, KS.
She was born June 19, 1942 in rural north Hilo Hawaii to Timateo Cafa and Minnie Borge Cafa.
Marge attended school in Hawaii. She acquired a degree in Secretarial Work while attending Business College. Marge proudly served her country in the United States Navy from 1961 to 1962. She relocated to Moberly, MO in 1993 where she married John Ash on May 24, 1993. Marge was a member of Carpenter Street Baptist Church and worked as a stenographer for the Moberly Corrections Center for many years until her retirement. Marge loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She went to every sporting event and school activity that she could. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Through her donation and with the help of the Midwest Transplant Network, Marge will be changing the lives of others and her generosity continues to live on.
Marge is preceded in death by her parents; her son, Rodney Farris; brother, Tim Cafa and her sister, Connie Nickerson.
Survivors include her husband, John Ash of Moberly MO; her children, Rhonda Shields and Clay Farris both of Columbia, MO, Jaime (Nick) Holden of MI, Karen (Chris) McNarney of WI and Brooke (Mike) Woodham of IL; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, extended family and close friends.
Services celebrating Marge’s life will be held Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home. Inurnment will follow at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
