Martha Louise Riley, 96, of Moberly, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Valley View Health and Rehab in Moberly.
Martha was born on September 4, 1918 in Randolph County. She was the daughter of Guy Bennett and Beulah B. (Thomas) Halliburton. On July 16, 1936 she married Herbert E. Riley. Throughout their marriage, they resided in Moberly. He preceded her in death on October 10, 1979.
For years Martha worked at the Merchants Hotel Coffee Shop and later at Reeds Corner Café. Later she and Herbert owned and operated the Urban Package Store on South Morley until their retirement. After retirement they spent many years traveling in their RV, fishing, and wintering in Texas. After Herbert’s death Martha became an avid and long-time volunteer at Moberly Regional Medical Center where she held the most hours of service for many years.
She is survived by a son David and wife Joyce of Moberly; grandchildren whom she loved, Stephanie (Riley) Long and her husband Steve of Columbia, MO, Shawn Riley and his wife Rebecca of Moberly, great-grandchildren, Bradon Long of Columbia, Mitchell, Case, and Gavin Riley of Moberly.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home in Moberly. Rev. Jay Self will officiate. Visitation will be Monday prior to the service at 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with burial following in Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are appreciated to First Christian Church.
