Marvin Richard Ancell, 92, of Moberly passed away on Friday, May 8, 2015 at Valley View Health and Rehabilitation. He was born October 11, 1922 in Clinton, Missouri to Ezra and Anna Ancell. Prior to retirement, Marvin worked in retail and owned Marvin's Furniture Store. He served in the U.S Army from December 1942 until February 1946, fighting in Rhineland and Central Europe where he received the Victory Ribbon, American Theatre Ribbon, and 2 Bronze Stars. He married Vickie Thomas on July 18, 1948 in Moberly, Missouri. Marvin was a member of Central Christian Church and was a true Cardinal fan supporting them in losses and wins. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Michael Ancell; brothers: Raymond Ancell, Kenneth Ancell and Melvin Ancell; and a sister, Joyce Jackson. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Vickie Ancell of Moberly; his daughter, Linda Truesdell and her husband Howard of Osage Beach, Missouri; 3 grandchildren: Royce Ancell and his wife Amanda of Moberly, Wendi Utterback and her husband Kevin of Jonesborough, Tennessee, and Tyler Trusdell of Camdenton, Missouri; 6 great grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; sister-in-laws; brother-in-laws; nieces; nephews, other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 12:30 p.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Pastor William Gaines officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be held at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, Missouri following funeral services. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the DAV or American Heart Association.
