Mary Davies

Mary Davies, 75, of Moberly, MO, went to be with Jesus on Saturday April 12, 2014, at her home in Moberly. She was born October 3rd, 1938, in Moberly, Missouri, the daughter of the late Nellie (Nelson) Buck and Carl Phipps. She was united in marriage on July 10, 1965, in Moberly to George Davies who survives at the home. Mary attended MACC after graduating from Moberly Senior High and was employed by AAA Insurance Company of Moberly. Mary was a member of New Beginnings church in Centralia, MO where she served as an elder on the board of directors and she was a volunteer with Angel Food Ministries. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her grandchildren, and long walks in Rothwell Park. Mary would always put others’ needs before her own. She was a gentle and a caring person who enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by three children, Robbie Davies, Moberly; Michael Davies, Moberly; Michelle (Davies) Bales, Union; Four grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyle Bales; Jace Shackelford and Gavin Davies; and four siblings, Lester Phipps, Fort Worth TX; Lyda Jennings, Warsaw; Raymond Phipps, La Plata and late Elsie (Phipps) Potucek, Moberly/Eldon. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 5:00 p.m until 7:00 p.m at Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Million-Taylor Funeral Home in Moberly, Missouri with Pastor Scott Smith. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.
