Mary Sue Stone, 84, of Moberly, passed away June 12, 2015 at Meadow Ridge Estates. She was born August 3, 1930 in Moberly, MO to Charles Thurman Closser and Edith Stanley Closser. On April 14, 1947 she married William James (John Bill) Stone, who preceded her in death in 2013. Mary was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the UTU. She ran a boarding home in Moberly for many years and was the first person in Moberly to get a boarding home license. She enjoyed word search puzzles and being with her grandchildren. Mary was also a huge Cardinals fan!! Those preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, are two sons; Junior and Kevin Stone; brothers Jim, Charles, Richard and Henry Closser; sisters Margaret Summers and Dorothy Brown. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Truax of Parkersburg, IA, Helen Kennedy of Sacramento, CA, and Elsie Choate of Columbia, MO.; son Ralph (Susan) Stone, and five daughters; Barbara (Clyde) Moore, Charlotte (Gary) Colston, Kay (Chris) Kilgore, Carol Lawson and Rayma Wright; seventeen grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren with two more on the way, and six great-great grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Ray Stone (Joann), and sisters-in-law Mary LaVaun White and Kay Stone. Services for Mary will be Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Pathway Memorial Funeral Home followed by interment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to the Immanuel Baptist Church, P.O. Box 694, Moberly, MO 65270 or the Paralyzed Veterans of America, Gateway Chapter 1311 Lindbergh Plaza Center, St. Louis, MO 63132.
