Maxine Edwards

Maxine Edwards, 85 of Moberly passed away Wednesday August 8, 2012 at Moberly Regional Medical Center. She was born October 28, 1926 the daughter of Elliott and Nelle Wilson Whitaker at Kirksville, Mo. She married Harold Edwards June 23, 1943 at Centralia, Mo. and he preceded her February 26, 2008. She had graduated from High School and College and had a Master’s Degree in Education. She had been a teacher and counselor for several years for Mexico Public Schools. She served as a director for Christos and had started the Sheltered Workshop in Moberly and had been a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She is survived by three sons, Tom Edwards of Moberly, Mo., John and Vickie Edwards of Carmel Valley, Ca., and James and Judi Edwards of Melbourne, Australia, two daughters, Barbara Collins of Moberly, Mo., and Kathy Barrett of Dellwood, Mo., seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
