Melvina Annette Blew, 98, of Macon passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at Loch Haven in Macon, Missouri. Melvina was born August 26, 1916 to Leo Ernest and Marie Louise (Claussen) Heath in Clarion, Iowa. During her career, she was a school teacher in the Kaseyville, Missouri area and an Assistant Librarian in Salisbury. She was a kind and sweet woman who was interested in her family and friends and their activities. She loved to read, travel, play games and was crazy about cats. Melvina taught Sunday school and was a church pianist for different churches in her earlier days. She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil Blew. Melvina is survived by her sister; Lauretta Yutz of Macon, MO; nieces: Ann Y. Adams of Louisville, KY, JoAnne McClellan and husband William of Callao, MO, Janice Dubbert and husband Joe of Callao, Judy Beckemeyer and husband Eric of Grayslake, IL, and Jane Sappington and husband Jim of Macon; nephew, John Yutz and wife Donna of Callao; several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m. at the Million Taylor Funeral Homes of Moberly with Pastor Jim Bolin officiating. Burial will follow at Hebron Cemetery in Kaseyville. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Hebron Cemetery Fund.
