Michael Joseph Hubeny

Michael Joseph Hubeny, 63, of Higbee, Missouri passed away surrounded by family, on October 27, 2023, at University of Missouri Hospital.

Michael was born on February 2, 1960, in Bristol, Connecticut to Joseph Michael Hubeny & Gertrude Pauline Verreault.

Michael graduated from LaPlata High School and from the University of Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and business. In 2017, Michael moved to Higbee, MO, where he took pride in his small farm.

He married Michael R. Coats on August 20, 2016.

Michael enjoyed gardening, his goats and chickens. His family and friends will always remember him for his sense of humor, love for nature, family, children and grandchildren.  

He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Michael Hubeny and Gertrude Pauline (Verreault) Hubeny.

Michael is survived by his husband, Michael Coats of Higbee, MO, son, Adrian Hubeny, of Excelsior Springs, MO, daughter, Alexis Karstetter, of Kansas City, MO, grandchildren, Gage M. Hubeny, Aubrey M. Hubeny, Evie G. Hubeny, Troy A. Hubeny, brothers, Charles Hubeny and Joseph Hubeny and sister, Andrea Wehmeyer.

A memorial service celebrating Michael’s life will be held at a later date.
