Michael E. McCann

Michael E. “Mike” McCann, 74, of Madison passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Monroe Manor in Paris, MO. Mike was born to Raymond D. and Juanita (Haley) McCann on January 24, 1942 in Middle Grove, MO. For over 50 years, Mike worked at what he loved, being a barber. He ran his own shop in Madison for over 20 years and then began working for the Tiger Barber Shop in Columbia before retiring due to health reasons. Mike enjoyed the outdoors, mowing his lawn, and talking to everyone. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Evelyn Beamer and Delores Simpson; granddaughter, Tara McCann and extended family, Ruby Lear and Mike Bolin. Survivors include his fiance, Joyce Bolin of Madison; son, Jeff (Leslie) McCann of Columbia; daughters: Wendy (Shelton) Wheelan of Paris, and Lynn (Kevin) Darst of Madison; brothers: Donnie (Judy) McCann of Rural Middle Grove, and Mark (Mary) McCann of Moberly; brother-in-law, Richard Lake; grandchildren: Ashlyn (Brad) Hahn, Victoria (Jake) Baldwin, Erin McCann, and Dillon McCann; great grandchildren: Bree and Skylar Baldwin. A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with a reception immediately following until 5:00 p.m. at the Madison Community Center under the direction of Million Taylor Funeral Homes.
